Dr. Mortimer received his doctor of medicine from University of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and biology from UC Berkeley. He completed his residency in family medicine at UCSF Fresno.
Dr. Mortimer is the medical director of the CMC Family Health Center. In addition, he provides primary and HIV specialty care at the CMC Special Services Clinic. He also serves as a faculty member at the Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center.
Dr. Mortimer does research in HIV, case management, and patient-physician communication.
He serves as the clinical liaison for the family medicine research team. In addition, Dr. Mortimer has an interest in wilderness medicine and regularly participates in cave explorations.
He is the coordinator of the Western Region National Cave Rescue Commission.
