Omar Mahmood, MD, is board certified in internal medicine and fellowship trained in hematology and oncology.
Dr. Mahmood attended Al-Mustansiriya University in Baghdad, Iraq, for medical school. To expand his medical education, he completed an internal medicine residency at UCSF Fresno, where he served as Chief Resident. He concluded his educational journey by completing his hematology oncology fellowship at UCSF Fresno, where he earned the title of Chief Fellow.
During his residency, he participated in several clinical research projects. Some notable topics include essential thrombocythemia, CNS lymphoma, and acute myeloid leukemia. In addition, he has published numerous articles on various types of cancer.
