Kao-Houa Vang, MD, specializes in family and community medicine.

Dr. Vang began her education at UC Berkley, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in integrative biology. She then attended UC Davis for the Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program. In pursuing her doctoral degree, she earned the San Joaquin Valley PRIME Program Scholarship, which allowed her to study at UC Davis School of Medicine in Sacramento.

She is passionate about caring for her community, notably the Hmong community. She has volunteered in local clinics to provide health education and perform health screenings. She advocates for translation services for Asian immigrants while helping raise awareness on health issues that surround the Asian community. She also advocates for women’s advancement in medicine and science.

When she is not taking care of patients, she enjoys hiking, running, or trying out new recipes to cook.

She is fluent in Hmong and is conversational in Spanish.
