Delvin Akins, MD, specializes in emergency medicine.

Dr. Akins began his educational career at Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in psychology. Returning to the West Coast, he obtained an additional bachelor’s degree in general science at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Akins then matriculated to Oregon Health and Science University to earn his Doctor of Medicine. To further his knowledge, Dr. Akins is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Business Administration through Eastern Oregon University.

Finally, he graduated from the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at UCSF Fresno. He felt drawn to UCSF Fresno because of the excellent clinical training and diverse patient population, which was important to him.

When Dr. Akins is not caring for patients, teaching the next generation of world-class surgeons, or conducting cutting-edge research, he can be found enjoying a good game of golf, basketball, or softball. He is also dabbling in music production. Other than that, he enjoys spending time with his family.
