Casey Sautter, MD, MSc, FACOG, is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Sautter began her higher education at Lawrence University, earning a bachelor’s degree while majoring in biochemistry and chemistry. She then earned a Master of Science in infectious diseases, vaccinology, and drug discovery as a joint degree from the University of Basel and the Swiss Tropical Public Health Institute in Basel, Switzerland and the National University of Singapore and the Novartis Institute of Tropical Diseases in Singapore. She attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis for medical school during which she took an extra year to live in Kampala, Uganda and complete a clinical research program. Dr. Sautter then completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Nebraska in Omaha, NE. Following residency, she participated in the H.E.A.L. Initiative fellowship in global health and health equity through the University of California San Francisco. This fellowship took her to Gallup, New Mexico and to Rwanda and Uganda in East Africa.
Her community interests align with her clinical interests, which include general obstetrics and gynecology, global health, health equity, reproductive infectious diseases, family planning, and working with medically underserved populations.
Dr. Sautter has presented on topics such as gender equity in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, prenatal substance use screenings, and international adoption, particularly the health of children adopted from Haiti.
