Hospitalist

Antonio Toribio, MD, specializes in hospital medicine.

As a Fresno local, he began his higher educational career at Fresno State, earning his bachelor’s degree in biology. He then moved to College Station, Texas, to earn both his master’s and medical degree at Texas A&M University. He returned to California to attend Loma Linda University for another medical degree. Finally, he returned to Fresno for his internal medicine residency at UCSF Fresno.

Throughout his educational career, Dr. Toribio always aimed to become a physician and practice in Fresno to serve the patient population of the Central Valley. He truly cares for this city and its people because he was raised here. Knowing there was a shortage of physicians in the Valley, Dr. Toribio sought UCSF Fresno’s residency program in the Department of Medicine. He was fortunate to match at UCSF Fresno, which began his journey to bringing critical healthcare to the Valley and teaching the next generation of medical leaders.

Outside of his role as a doctor and teacher, Dr. Toribio inspires high school students through UCSF Fresno’s Doctors Academy as a mentor. He introduces these students to the vastness of medicine through this mentorship.

His fluency in Spanish also allows him to connect with his patients easily.
