Amelia Gurley, MD, is fellowship trained in emergency medical services and disaster medicine.
Dr. Gurley attended Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, to obtain her pre-med degree. She then attended Brown University’s Warren Alpert Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island, to obtain her medical degree. Dr. Gurley matriculated to University of California, Riverside, for her Emergency Medicine Residency, where she worked at a trauma center and a high-acuity emergency department. Following her residency, she expanded her breadth of knowledge by obtaining her EMS and Disaster Medicine Fellowship at University of California, San Francisco, where she focused on disaster response, medical education, healthcare policies, and quality improvement.
She has a plethora of research publications on topics such as emergency medicine, public health policy, and information systems infrastructure. She is also active in her community, volunteering as a physician, translator, researcher, and data analyst at local clinics.
Dr. Gurley also speaks Spanish.
